This is a fabulous Victorian double snake ring which features two entwined serpents (which represent eternal, everlasting love, loyalty and friendship) each one with a sparkling gem on their heads. One has a bright pinky red ruby and one an old mine cut diamond. These original hallmarked antique snake rings are getting more and more difficult to find, and this one is that much more special in that each snake features two twinkling diamond eyes on their happy faces

The ring's face measures 8mm at its widest point. The wide buttery gold band is fully hallmarked for 18ct Gold but the date and assay mark has been rubbed. It weighs 4.37g and is currently a UK size R 1/2 (US size 8 3/4) but could be re-sized within reason.

Queen Victoria was an enthusiast of snake jewellery and had several pieces in her personal collection, notably her snake engagement ring from Prince Albert, which symbolised his everlasting love.
