This fabulous Antique Edwardian 9ct Gold suffragette curb bracelet is Circa 1910. The bracelet is adorned with a rich green Peridot, two violet Amethyst and two creamy Pearls.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The piece is held together by a lovely Gold heart padlock which is fitted with a safety chain too. All set in 9ct Yellow Gold and fully hallmarked on the reverse of the padlock.
